The Kent Business School Accounting and Finance Department has a strong international reputation for its research on public sector accounting, critical accounting and accounting history.
Staff members have published many scholarly papers in highly esteemed journals and a number of influential books. Our Accounting scholars’ research interests include privatisation and neoliberalism, public sector accounting and accountability, the social and political importance of accounting, accounting for sustainability, accounting history and optimal capital markets.

Canterbury
Our self-contained Canterbury campus provides a welcoming environment and a close-knit student community. Campus life revolves around six colleges, the Templeman Library, the Gulbenkian arts centre and the Mandela Building (home of Kent Union) – all set among green and tranquil open spaces.
Medway
The Medway campus is friendly and close-knit, with students from a variety of backgrounds working and socialising together. New to Medway? Don’t worry, you’ll find there are lots of local students on campus who can help you to discover the area. The Medway campus is close to the towns of Rochester and Chatham and part of the redeveloped Chatham Maritime area.
